AI AND THE FUTURE OF HUMANITY

CONTEXT SETTING

This week I have been putting my critical digital skills to use by searching for information about an issue on internet safety. I have been looking at the potential impact artificial intelligence (AI) poses on the global market. this topic has recently garnered much attention much attention due to its potential to revolutionize economic development in the modern world.

 TOPIC DEFINITION

AI simply refers to the development of computer systems that are capable of performing tasks that require human intelligence. These tasks include translation of various languages, text-to-speech, and speech recognition. These technological advancements might have profound implications.

EXPLANATION OF THE ISSUE

The significant issue of (AI) is its dual impact on the economy. in some advanced economies, some of the jobs might be impacted by AI, half benefiting from productivity gains and the other half facing reduced labor demands. This scenario where AI drives growth, it also poses various challenges.

AFFECTED PARTIES

Due to the rise of ambition from a wide range of stakeholders, the advanced economies face greater risks and opportunities while emerging markets and developing economies experience fewer immediate disruptions but risk falling behind due to infrastructure and skills gaps.

HOW IT HAPPENS 

Since AI automates routine tasks and enhances the production of highly skilled jobs, this therefore leads to loss of job opportunities in advanced economies leading to most jobs being exposed to AI through direct automation.

CAUSES OF THE ISSUE

The main cause is the rapid advancement of technology and its integration into the modern world.

EFFECTS OF THE ISSUE

The effects include loss of job opportunities and wage suppression affecting workers who cannot leverage AI may likely be affected.
